Summer is when I am my most creative. I wake up with the sun and fall asleep thinking of projects. This summer I really wanted to play with watercolors and learn a new style of calligraphy. I have worked acrylic for years but I really wanted to explore something new. I am always amazed how much you can learn on the internet. Seriously. I found a couple videos from youtube and I was creating. I does help that I had been doing calligraphy for a while when I started {progress not perfection, progress not perfection} and that I just wanted to play with paint. I had no real idea what it would turn into or what I would paint until brush hit paper. Those of you who know me, know that I can fall pretty deep into a project. This one definitely feels like love. If you follow me on Instagram, you may be wondering where all the food went {it will be back}. It was interesting to see how I could achieve different styles with watercolor and my experimentation lead to mass production. I may be up to a hundred or so dresses. There are times when I don't know what the dress will look like even when I am halfway through it. I talked about it in a painting session on Periscope recently {@SimpleGourmet}. I just play with texture until a dress appears. Some of them pair nicely with calligraphy and others are just dresses. I'm still not sure how I landed on painting dresses but there is so much texture to explore they just seem to make sense for now. Needless to say, the Etsy shop is getting an update. I would love to hear what you think about my ladies in dresses. Leave me a comment below!
