Layers of paper and vibrantly colored paint go into the works of Christiane Gaudette. Multi-layered pieces add to the sense of mystery that draws the viewer closer. Her gel transfer technique provides the skeleton over which she layers all sorts of paper, including newspaper, travel documents, admission tickets, books, and paper. Final coloring is a mix of acrylic and watercolor, which results in a dreamlike and eclectic view of the urban experience. Gaudette's work has recieved recognition from her peers. Her works are part of several public and private collections.
